Award-winning filmmaker and bestselling author studied and earned her doctorate from 1982-1989 in
Frankfurt, Paris, Cologne, Basel and Costa Rica in biology and already started during this time with
her passion, writing and filming, including her first film and her first book about
Costa Rica with a focus on biodiversity, which immediately became a bestseller. Also in 1989,
She founded the tropical and climate protection association Tropicaverde. This was followed by journalistic and
film dramaturgical training, numerous documentaries especially for ARD, ZDF and ARTE with
focusing on biodiversity and climate, culture and history, as well as numerous non-fiction books and
